# One Claude project that knows your business

From tuitiv's free resources: tuitiv.ai/free/project

## The rule

One project per business. Plus one for personal. That's it.

1. **Why fewer: Every project only knows what's inside it.** Each new project means explaining your business again. Twenty projects means twenty half-informed versions of Claude, and no idea which chat is where.
2. **What does the sorting: Folders, not projects.** One linked folder per business, with subfolders for each area of work. Folders do the sorting. Claude does the remembering.
3. **While you're testing: Before you build AI employees, build a folder Claude can find its way around.** Especially while you're still working out what your systems should be. One well-organised folder lets you test what works. Twenty projects just leave you overwhelmed.

## Your first project, ticked off

Tick what's already done and it tells you where to start. Nothing you tick is saved or sent anywhere: it stays on this page.

### Your first project, ticked off

In order. Each line is one sitting, most of them ten minutes.

- [ ] **Privacy checked:** in Claude, Settings, then Privacy, before you connect anything.
- [ ] **One project per business**, plus one for personal. Not one per task or per client.
- [ ] **One real folder linked** to the project, so Claude can reach your files without uploading them.
- [ ] **Subfolders for each area of work** inside it (prompt 01 plans them).
- [ ] **A business context document** in the folder: what you sell, who buys, how the business works (prompt 02).
- [ ] **A voice document**: three pieces of your best writing, turned into notes on how you write.
- [ ] **An up-to-date brand style guide** in the folder: your colours, fonts and how your documents should look, so outputs come out on brand first time.
- [ ] **Your instructions written once**: in the project's Instructions, with a copy as CLAUDE.md in the folder (prompt 03).
- [ ] **A test chat run** to check what Claude knows and what's missing (prompt 04).

What your score means:

- **0 or more: Start at the top.** Privacy first, then one project and one folder. Prompt 01 does the folder thinking for you.
- **3 or more: The bones are there.** Now the files. Prompt 02 writes your business context; prompt 03 writes your instructions.
- **7 or more: Nearly done.** Run prompt 04 to find the gaps. Whatever Claude gets wrong is what your files are missing.
- **9 or more: Done. Now use it.** Start every piece of work inside this project. Re-run prompt 04 once a month.

## From empty to useful, in six steps

Written for Claude Cowork on your computer, where a project can hold real folders.

1. **Check your privacy settings.** In Claude, Settings, then Privacy. Do this before you connect anything.
2. **Create the project.** In Cowork, open Projects, choose +, then Use an existing folder (or Start from scratch for a new one). Name it after the business.
3. **Plan the folders** with prompt 01, then create them yourself. It proposes; it doesn't move anything.
4. **Write your documents** with prompt 02 (business context) and from three pieces of your writing (voice). Add your brand style guide. Save all three in the folder.
5. **Write your instructions** with prompt 03. Paste them into the project's Instructions, and save a copy as CLAUDE.md in the folder.
6. **Test it** with prompt 04 in a new session inside the project. Fix what it gets wrong, then start every piece of work there.

## The prompts

01 plans your folders. 02 and 03 write the files. 04 checks it all worked.

### 01. Plan my folder structure

It asks about your work, then proposes folders. It doesn't create or move anything.

```
Help me plan a folder structure for one business, so an AI assistant can find its way around my files.
Ask me one question at a time and wait for my answer. No more than six questions. Cover:
→ what the business sells
→ the main areas of work (for example clients, content, sales, finance)
→ what I create every week
→ where the structure will live (the folder linked to my AI project) and where my files are now
→ the folders I already have, and what's in any with unclear names
Then propose a structure:
→ number the top-level folders from 00, with 00 Context first (for my business context, voice and instructions files)
→ no more than eight top-level folders, and one level of subfolders at most, only where I said I'd use them
→ a one-line note under each folder saying what goes in it
→ a short table: each existing folder, and where its contents would go
You may suggest a clearer name for an existing folder, but mark it as a suggestion. Don't add an Archive folder unless I ask. Don't create, rename or move anything: I'll do that myself. Don't suggest new tools or new habits. If an existing folder's purpose is unclear and you're out of questions, say so in the table rather than guess.
```

### 02. Write my business context

The short version. The full interview, with six documents including your voice, is the Context Interview (tuitiv.ai/free/context).

```
Interview me to write a one-page context document about my business, so an AI assistant knows it before I ask for anything.
Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer. Cover what I sell and what it costs, who buys and why, how clients find me, who's on the team, and what's in my way right now. No more than eight questions.
Then write it under the headings What I sell, Who buys and why, How the business works, Team, What's in my way. No more than 300 words.
Use my words. Don't add anything I didn't tell you: no estimates, no advice, no marketing language. At the bottom, list anything I couldn't answer under "Still to fill in". Give it to me in one block I can copy.
```

### 03. Write my project instructions

Paste the result into the project's Instructions, and save a copy as CLAUDE.md in your folder.

```
Help me write standing instructions for an AI assistant working inside my business project.
Ask me up to five questions, one at a time: how I like answers (length, tone, spelling), what it should always do, what it must never do, which files it should read first, and when it should ask me rather than act.
Then write the instructions as a short list under three headings: Always, Never, Ask me first. No more than 200 words. Include these unless I tell you otherwise:
→ Always check facts, and say when you're not sure.
→ Never send, post or delete anything.
→ Ask me rather than guess.
Use my words where you can. Don't add rules I didn't ask for. Give it to me in one block I can copy.
```

### 04. Test what my project knows

Run it in a new session inside the project, after the files are in the folder.

```
Without asking me anything first, tell me what you know about my business from the files and instructions in this project. Under these headings: What I sell, Who buys, How I work, How I write, What you must never do.
Use only what's in my files and instructions. For each heading, say which file you got it from. If you couldn't find something, write "Not in my files" rather than guess.
Then list the three most useful things missing, as questions I could answer to fill the gaps. Keep it under 250 words.
```

## Where to go next

This page sets up the project. These pages fill it.

- **Want all six context documents?** The Context Interview (tuitiv.ai/free/context) writes them with you, voice included.
- **Not sure what to fix first?** The Setup Health Check (tuitiv.ai/free/patched) ranks it for you.
- **Never checked your settings?** The Starter Pack (tuitiv.ai/free/setup) has the privacy checklist and my global instructions.

## When it's not quite right

**It moved or renamed my files**
Prompt 01 only proposes. If you used a different prompt, tell it: "Don't move anything. Propose, and I'll do it." Then check the folder.

**The test says "Not in my files" for everything**
Check the session started inside the project, and that the files are in a folder linked to it. A chat outside the project can't see them.

**I already have twenty projects**
Don't delete them. Start one new project per business, link the folder, and use only that. The old ones can be archived once you've stopped opening them (archiving doesn't touch your files).

**I don't use Cowork**
In a claude.ai project, upload the two documents as project files and paste prompt 03's result into the project instructions. You lose the linked folder, but the rest works.
