You explain your business at the start of every chat.
Fix: one short document about your business, kept in a project so Claude reads it before every task. Prompt 02 writes it.
A patched-together setup isn't a skills problem. It's an order problem: you started before anyone told you which bit comes first. This check looks at your setup against the five signs, ranks what to fix, and gives you one ten-minute step to start with.
Ten minutes for the check, then ten to thirty for the first fix. The prompts work in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot. Skills and Cowork are Claude features, and the set-up steps on this page are written for Claude.
You've also got an email on its way with links to all the free resources, so you can find them again.
Jump to the Setup Health Check ↓None of these mean you're bad at AI. They mean the setup grew one chat at a time. Each card has the fix in a line.
Fix: one short document about your business, kept in a project so Claude reads it before every task. Prompt 02 writes it.
Fix: one main project with folders inside it. Files and chats in a project stay in that project, so fewer projects means less hunting.
Fix: turn it into a skill, so you teach it once and run it the same way every time. Prompt 03 does it.
Fix: give Claude three pieces of your best writing and ask it to build a voice document from them. Then keep it in the project.
Fix: settings first, connectors second. The Starter Pack has the ten-minute checklist.
Tick what's true for you. Nothing you tick is saved or sent anywhere: it stays on this page.
Be honest. Nobody's watching (I checked).
If you were starting again, this is the order I'd do it in. You don't need to start again. Prompt 01 tells you which step to jump to.
01 is the check. 02 and 03 fix the two signs that cost the most time. 04 checks the fixes stuck.
Paste into a fresh chat. It asks six short questions, one at a time, then gives you the ranked list.
I want to check how well my AI setup is put together, and find the one fix to make first. Interview me, then score my setup. Ask me one question at a time and wait for my answer. Cover these, in this order: → Context: do I explain my business at the start of chats, or is there a document the AI reads every time? → Projects: how many projects or workspaces do I have, and do I know which one holds what? → Repeat prompts: is there a prompt I copy and paste regularly? Where does it live, and how often do I use it? → Voice: how often do I rewrite drafts before they sound like me? → Privacy settings: have I checked them? → Connections: what have I connected (email, calendar, files)? One follow-up per area at most, and only if my answer is too vague to score. If I say I don't know, score it as Not sure and move on. No more than ten questions in total. Score each area using only what I told you: → Fine: it works without me redoing anything by hand → Patched: it works, but I redo it by hand or work around it → Missing: it isn't set up at all → Not sure: I couldn't say Give one line on why for each. Rank the fixes. Privacy comes first if I've connected anything and my privacy settings are Patched, Missing or Not sure. Rank the rest by how often the problem happens, based on what I said, and put any other Not sure areas last. Leave out anything scored Fine. For the top fix only, give me one first step I can finish in ten minutes, written as an instruction, not advice. Only name a menu or setting if you're sure it exists in the tool I use. If you're not sure, tell me what to look for instead. Don't suggest new tools or paid upgrades. Don't ask me to paste passwords, client details or anything confidential. Don't guess at my answers: ask me rather than assume. Keep the result under 200 words: the scores, a numbered list of fixes, then the one step.
The short version. The full interview, with the other five documents, is the Context Interview.
Interview me to write a one-page context document about my business, so AI knows it before I ask for anything. Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer. Cover what I sell and what it costs, who buys and why, how clients find me, who's on the team, and what's constraining me right now. No more than eight questions. Then write it under the headings What I sell, Who buys and why, How the business works, Team, What's constraining me. No more than 300 words. Use my words. Don't add anything I didn't tell you: no estimates, no advice, no marketing language. At the bottom, list anything I couldn't answer under "Still to fill in". Give it to me in one block I can copy.
Skills are a Claude feature. Paste your prompt where the brackets are. More on skills on Teach It Once.
This is a prompt I paste regularly: [paste your prompt here] Turn it into a Claude skill so I can run it the same way every time without pasting it. First ask me up to three questions about what a good result looks like and what usually goes wrong. One at a time. Then write the skill: a short name, a description that says exactly when to use it, the steps in order, and a list of what it must never do. Keep what the original prompt does. Don't add steps I didn't ask for. Finally, tell me in three lines how to save it: if you can create it for me here, do that; if not, tell me where to add it.
Paste your result from prompt 01 underneath.
A month ago I checked my AI setup. This was the result: [paste your result from prompt 01] Ask me only about the areas that were Patched, Missing or Not sure, one question at a time. For each, ask what I changed and whether I've used it in the last two weeks. Then tell me, in one line each, which fixes stuck and which didn't. For the ones that didn't, give me the smallest next step. If everything stuck, say so and stop. Don't suggest anything new.
This page tells you what to fix. These pages go deeper on each fix.
