Decisions to make this week
Written as a question, with the deadline if you said one. Decisions hide inside worries, so this pile is usually longer than you expect.
Hardly anyone thinks well at a desk with fourteen tabs open. So walk, say everything out loud, and let Claude do the typing and the sorting. You get home to four tidy piles and a plan for the week.
Ten to twenty minutes of walking, five minutes with Claude afterwards. The prompts work in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot. The dictation steps are for the Claude mobile app and Wispr Flow.
You've also got an email on its way with links to all the free resources, so you can find them again.
Jump to the Walk + Talk Setup ↓Everything you say on the walk ends up in one of these. Pile four is the one people skip, and it's the one that clears your head.

Small enough to start in ten minutes. "Sort out the website" becomes "Open the homepage and list what's out of date".
The email you've been avoiding, written in plain words. Drafted, never sent: you read it and press send yourself.
Anything you mentioned but have no reason to act on, or worry about but can't change. Seeing it written down is half the relief.
Pick one. You don't need to record anything first: your words go straight into the message box, under the prompt.
In the Claude app on iPhone or Android, tap the microphone on the right of the message box and talk. Your words appear as text. Tap the arrow to send, or the X to cancel. The first time, it asks which language you speak. This is dictation: if Claude starts talking back, you've opened voice mode instead.
A voice keyboard that works inside any app, Claude included, and takes out the ums and repeats as you talk. Free with a weekly word limit. My referral link gives you a free month of Pro: get Wispr Flow. It's the one I use.
The first time takes twenty minutes. After that it's a habit you already have (the walk) with one extra tap.
01 is the sort. 02 tells Claude what it needs to know first. 03 turns the piles into your week. 04 tunes it after a week.
Paste it, then talk underneath. Messy is fine: the prompt expects it.
Below is everything I said out loud on a walk. It will be messy: repeats, half-sentences, changes of mind. Sort it for me. Put every item in one of four piles: 1. Decisions I need to make this week. Write each as a question, with the deadline if I mentioned one. 2. Tasks. Give each one a first step small enough to do in ten minutes. Calls go here, with what to say in one line. So do longer pieces of writing (a newsletter, a post): don't write them for me. 3. Messages I need to send. Draft each one, short and in plain words. Never send anything. 4. Things I can drop. Anything I mentioned but have no reason to act on this week, or that I'm worrying about but can't change. Say why in a few words. Rules: → Use only what I said. The first steps are the only thing you add: no new tasks, ideas or advice. → If I changed my mind during the walk, use what I said last. → Leave personal things out unless I clearly said they belong on this list. At the end, list what you left out as personal in one line, so I know it wasn't lost. → If something could go in two piles, pick one and mark it (?) with the other pile's name. → If one thing is unclear enough to change the sort, ask me that one question first. Otherwise don't ask anything. → Keep the whole result under 250 words. My walk: [delete this line, then talk]
Once per chat, or once ever if you save it as a Claude project's instructions.
Before I give you my walk notes, here's what you need to know to sort them well. Keep it in mind for the rest of this chat. My work: [what you do, in one line] My priorities this quarter: [two or three] Fixed this week: [meetings, deadlines, days off] Leave out: [anything you'll mention but don't want on the list, e.g. family admin] Reply with one line to confirm, then wait for my walk notes. Don't give me any advice yet.
Paste the sorted list from prompt 01 where the brackets are.
Here's my sorted list from my walk: [paste the sorted list] Turn it into this week. → Put each decision on a day before its deadline, with fifteen minutes to make it. → Fit the tasks around my fixed commitments. Most important first, using my priorities. → No more than three tasks a day. Anything that doesn't fit goes on a "Next week" list. Don't squeeze it in. → Put each drafted message under the day it should go. Don't send anything. → Leave the drop pile out of the week completely. Give me one short list per day, then the "Next week" list. If you don't know my fixed commitments or priorities, ask me for them first rather than guess.
Paste your sorted lists from the week's walks.
I've used the Walk + Talk method for a week. Here are my sorted lists: [paste them] Tell me: → what came up more than once, and whether it needs a decision rather than another task → which pile I never acted on → one change to the sorting prompt that would make next week's list more useful Use only what's in the lists. Keep it under 150 words. If nothing stands out, say so and stop.
